What is the benefit of PAWPASS over just paying for services as I go?
You are receiving all examinations for illness or injury for free. This is a savings of up to 119$ or more, every time you come in with a pet issue. There is no limit to the number of times you come in so you never have to wait to be seen with an issue and you never have to worry about covering the examination fee. Insurance companies often don’t cover examinations so this saves you over 100$ each time you come in.
You also receive discounts on anti-parasitic medication to keep your pet parasite free and keep your family and your pet healthy.
You receive discounts on lab work either through the clinic or at the large lab or both, depending on the plan you choose.
These plans help you find out what is going on with far less cost to you on the day, and make it possible to treat your pet specifically for what is going on instead of using medication and hoping it will make things better. The costs are spread out over the year to spread out the burden of care over the months instead of having to pay all up front.
How do the monthly payments work?
You pay in 12 equal monthly installments, and the first payment is due at the start of your plan. If you pay for the whole year upfront, you will only pay the cost of 11 months (instead of 12).
How is this different from insurance?
Unlike insurance, there’s no underwriting or eligibility checks. Insurance generally doesn’t pay for examinations, we will always cover this cost completely. With PAWPASS Plans, you get guaranteed discounts, free Comprehensive Consultations/Exam/Progress Exams, and coverage on included services without restriction. No one will decide to not give you your coverage based on any prior health issues and no one will decrease the amount you receive based on your usage.
While costs may increase over the years, it will never increase because your pet has been in and used the services a lot. They will simply increase as the overall costs to operate increase, same as with any business.
What if I miss a payment?
You have a 10-day grace period to make the payment. If the payment isn’t made, the plan will be canceled, and you’ll return to regular service rates. Your pets will not be eligible for PAWPASS going forwards.
How long do I have to use the services?
You have one year from the start date of your plan to use all the included services. After that, any unused services will expire and a new plan will start if you decide to continue. Unused services will no longer be available after the end of your year.
Can I cancel the plan?
Yes, for Silver, Gold, and Harmony plans, you can cancel with 30 days’ written notice.
For Platinum, if a surgery has already occurred, you’ll need to wait until the end of the term (the year anniversary of starting your plan) to cancel. You still need to give at least 30 days notice in writing to cancel in this case. If no surgery has occurred, you can cancel with 30 days written notice.
If I cancel a plan, can I reinstate another plan?
If you cancel a plan, you can reinstate another plan after a 3 month wait period. If you simply wish to upgrade a plan, this can be done without a wait period.
Can I pair these plans?
Yes, the Harmony PAWPASS Plan can be paired with any other plan for 10% off the second plan.
What if I already have another discount on my file. Can I keep that AND do a plan?
No. As muti-pet, seniors, student discounts etc. are only 10%, and the Plans all far exceed this discount. Multi-pet or other discounts would not apply to the plans.
The only service that your PAWPASS plan would accumulate (i.e. Be on top of a discount already in place) is with certain surgeries. Your 10% would still apply on top of the normally discounted surgical fees e.g. dental surgery
